I'm not here to inspire you

Once there was a talent show at my school. Many "friends" asked me to participate. Wondering the talent i could have, i decided to ask them why they were so interested in my partaking. They answered it was "so people could know people like me can overcome their problems".

I know what they were referring to. Social media floods us with stories about people "overcoming disability". As if it was a task, in which luck determines the winner. And it does happen like that, but it's not good. Unfortunately, the world is not accesible for many of us, and there are many things that interfere with a Disabled Person's triumph: economy, contacts, geographic zone, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, other disabilities, even PHYSICAL APPEAREANCE INTERFERES.

sharing a video about -----, who is ----- and achieved------, is actually a case of someone who IS LUCKY. And i say it as someone who is non-superstitous. Many times, we won't achieve what the person did.

And then, we get all kinds of mockery. Wheter it is the fact we can't drive, or dress alone, or need acommodations at school, they tell us "believing is achieving". But society isn't fair, and ISN'T LIKE THAT. We shouldn't worry and yet, we do.

Many parents deny their children acommodations with this ugly excuse. and "believing is achieving" just puts the child up to burnout. How can it not, if their rights are removed?

These parents "disable" their children even more, not acommodating their children who deserve that rights. They think "disabled" is a bad word. It isn't. It's pride for a community working for a fair society.

While you share those videos before working for real change, we'll be PROUDLY DISABLED.

15 Reasons to NOT support Autism $peaks.

Well... this post is important… I know it will be highly polemical… But it's necessary. And now that i've got the spoons (we'll talk about it later) to tell it, i will. Unfrtunately for the big mayority of the Autistic Community, Autism $peaks is the greatest Autism Charity in the USA. MOST OF US HATE THIS "CHARITY". And here are a few reasons you should NEVER support them. 1. They show Autistic kids as burdens to their families, as "ghosts" and other REALLY STIGMATIZING analogies. No kid deserves that kind of rethoric (they have even described us as monsters). Even non-vocalizing or COMORBIDLY intellectually disabled Autistics are people and JUST BECAUSE OF THAT deserve as much respect as EVERYONE ELSE. 2. They use functioning labels. Simply, FUNCTIONING LABELS DON'T WORK. Due to them, "low functioning" individuals (commonly those who are non-vocalizing or depend on someone due to COMORBITIES)  are pitied, while "high-functionin
