Anime... Marine Biology... 80's rock... Robots... Disney... Superheroes... Pirates... Outern Space... The circus... Gastronomy... Activism itself... What do all these random topics hav e in common? These are all interests that me, or autistic loved ones, have (had). Autistic people can get REALLY into their interests, and we can spend HOURS and HOURS talking about them, and learning about them. Sometimes it will look like your loved one's life goes around that interest. And then, to avoid certain stuff (bad looks, not enjoying other topics) YOU WILL WANT TO STOP THE INTEREST. DON'T. You'll see, Autistics get a lot of relaxation from engaging on those topics. It's our comfort zone, and, if we could be in a place where they talk a lot about that topic, (ex: a convention, a theme park, a factory, a scientific association, a museum, a concert, a specialized school, or the same circus/ sea)would be a paradise.
